By creating an account or using Chapter Trail, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Accounts

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

You must provide accurate account information and use the platform in good faith.

You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings.

Acceptable use

Do not use Chapter Trail to harass others, post unlawful content, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with platform operation.

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or create risk for other users or the platform.

We maintain a policy to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain full copyright and ownership of all material they publish on Chapter Trail.

Chapter Trail does not claim, assume, or acquire any ownership rights over user-generated content. The platform acts solely as a service provider under 17 U.S.C. 512.

By publishing content on Chapter Trail, you give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, distribute, format, back up, and promote that content as needed to operate the service and help readers discover it.

You can remove your own content through the tools we provide, subject to moderation, legal, security, backup, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs.

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to publish everything you upload or submit.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

We only collect personal information needed for account access, platform operation, security, moderation, support, payments when applicable, and features you choose to use.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers or analytics to profile readers.

Some account information, such as your email address, display name, login details, support messages, and activity needed to operate reader and author features, may be stored so the site can function.

Service availability

Chapter Trail is provided on an as-is and as-available basis.

We may change, pause, or discontinue features when needed to maintain, improve, or protect the platform.

Warranty disclaimer

Chapter Trail is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, data availability, reader traffic, rankings, earnings, payouts, discoverability, or continued availability of any feature.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chapter Trail and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.

This includes lost profits, lost revenue, lost opportunities, loss of audience, loss of data, service interruptions, moderation actions, platform changes, or inability to access or use the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in the courts located in Florida, unless applicable law requires a different forum.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time.

Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
