Commander is Back

General

The sky grew dark by the ashes of those innocent lives; no one was able to survive this catastrophe except him.

The only survivor standing between the burning corpses of Acroniyans. His body was drenched in blood, not sure whether his own or of his enemies he slaughtered.

It simply didn't matter anymore; he stayed there silent for a moment, and then the rain started.

The rain and thunder increased his sorrow, pain, and failure of not being able to save his people. A sound of something rolling gained his attention; he looked toward the source. With a lightning strike, he saw a flashback.

A little girl with a glowing face came towards him offering him a flower; she added, " you are my hero."

His strength vanished all at once; he fell onto the ground. He looked towards the source of that sound and found a half-burned head in front of him.

That charming face was burned, but the rain had extinguished the flame.

He remained in that sorry state for a while and then he gathered all his strength.

He stood on his feet, wiping his tears. He glared towards that head, closed his eyes, and then stared towards the sky. "I don't know whether you exist or not; I don't even care now..." He took a brief pause and then continued.

"...If this is what you want, I refuse to walk the path you chose for me." "I will create my own path... undo all your unjust actions, which resulted in my people's suffering!!"

He pointed his sword towards the sky. "I, the wielder of this weapon, sacrifice even the last drop of my blood and magic." The sword started turning red with his blood; with each passing moment, his body turned pale. Soon after, his entire sword was completely covered in blood and turned crimson red.

«Recreate Restriction» words appeared on the sword; before he could react, a golden lightning struck him. The area was drenched in golden light.

A young man roughly around his 20s snapped out of his dream; his body was covered in sweat and his breath was so uneven. After calming down for a while, he muttered while wearing his armor, "I must go; there is no time to waste." He grabbed his sword and moved out.

Almost one year later, after a decade of peace, Acroniya was once again pushed into the flames of destruction and chaos.

People were running here and there to protect their lives; the streets were filled with blood and the screams of those who were not able to save their lives.

This chaos followed every corner of Acroniya; people were worried about their lives, while the Elders were worried about what is going to come next.

Inside an empty room there was a table, seven seats occupied by seven aged persons. The area was completely silent with a single map-like thing in the center of the table. Then one of them stood, smashing his hand on that map.

"Stop wasting time; there is no other way except using that". All eyes turned towards him, but no one said a thing; they turned their heads back to that map-like thing. It was glowing in a golden color, but there were several black spots on it. Those spots seemed to be moving around, and one of them was heading towards the Royal Capital.

When no one uttered a word, he shouted again, "We must use that; we don't have any other option".

Someone across the table stood in his place and calmly said, "Mirkan, we heard you the first time, so sit down". Mirkan opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, he was cut off by the same person. "Do you have any idea what you are talking about? " The voice, which was calm and gentle a little while ago, started to get harsh, and his eyes stared directly into Mirkan's soul.

That person took a deep breath and added, "Do you even comprehend the consequences of what you are talking about... " He raised his voice while looking directly into Mirkan's eyes, "Do you remember what happened last time? "

"Ruzaar," a person sitting in front of Ruzaar called his name. Ruzaar turned his head; the source of that sound asked him a question. "Wait, don't tell me you agree with him, Endioer? "

Endioer leaned forward and said, staring at Ruzaar, "We all are well aware of what happened last time". After a little pause, he continued.

His voice was low but audible enough, "No one forgot what happened that day, but still... " He took a brief pause, looking towards Ruzaar and Mirkan for a while. Lowering his head, he continued, "If we don't do anything, nothing will be left to worry about".

"Enough!! " A heavy voice exploded in the area. All turned towards the first chair. "I know your concerns, and " Before he could complete his sentence, he heard some strange sound.

Their hands instinctively went for their weapons. With each passing second, the footsteps became louder and louder, as did the heartbeats of the elders.

When the door started to open, a creature appeared; his head was of a deer while the rest of his body appeared to be human-like. That creature was drenched in sweat, his breath was breaking, and his vision was blurring.

With all his remaining strength, he shouted, "The Commander is back". Before the elders could ask any questions of him, he collapsed from weakness. "Take him to the infirmary NOW!!" Elder Ruzaar ordered. Guards rushed in and carefully took him to the infirmary.

The elders had a sign of relief upon hearing the news, while Elder Harlet stared out of the castle window towards Acroniya and muttered, "Please be saved, Neil".

The worries of the elders disappeared with the news of his arrival, but the people were still unaware of his return, running to save their lives and ignoring each other's existence.

In front of the royal castle, a large crowd of people was running and screaming. Unfortunately, one of them fell on the ground; none of them paid any attention towards him and they ran over him.

He screamed in pain, but his voice could not keep up with the screams of those thousands. He was covered in blood with severely serious injuries; he tried to ignore his pain and stand, but even after using all his strength to stand, he wasn't able to do so.

While he struggled to get back on his feet, something had sensed his presence. "Grrhhh!!!" A sound exploded in the area; that person froze in his place for a while, but he quickly snapped out of that state. "Please, body, work," he muttered while putting everything he could into it, and he was finally on his feet.

He turned, peeking a little towards the source of that sound. He saw a tiny black dot which was increasing in size with each passing second.

He ran for a while, but his body was still injured, and then, unable to maintain his balance, he slipped on the ground. His skin received a few scratches and cuts, but he ignored all of it.

He turned his head a little to see that tiny dot, which already had a shape resembling something he feared.

A bulky body with shiny black fur, his fur drenched in blood. His saber-like teeth, which turned a shade of red, were peeking out of his mouth, and his red eyes were locked on his prey.

Every step of that beast pushed the man one step closer to death. The man was so afraid he stood still there for some time, but quickly returned back to his senses.

He started crawling back as fast as he could, at the same time shouting and screaming, "Help, anyone! Someone please, some..."

His eyes were flooded with tears as he continued to beg for help, "Someone please help, anyone..."

The beast roared once again, making fun of him, and unleashed a devastating attack. The man shouted while trying his best to move, "No... NO!!"

The ground under the attack cracked open under the sheer force of that attack; dust particles started to fly in the area. He was only able to move for a moment, then his body finally gave up.

His hands were shaking badly, but he still tried to push a bit further. "It's better this way, a quick death..." He closed his eyes and lay there, accepting his death.

"Thud," the sound of something heavy falling to the ground came from behind him. He turned to see the source of the same, his eyes looking for a glimpse of hope.

Before he could turn, a flaming slash flew above him; that attack connected with that beast's attack. It split it into two, but it didn't stop and pushed forward towards the beasts.

That attack cut the beast's body into two, and then the beast's body was engulfed in flames. Before he could understand a thing, that beast was turned into a pile of ash; with a gentle wind, its remains also disappeared from their sight.

That person turned to thank his savior, but those attacks made loose dust particles fly around.

Through the dust clouds, he saw a person with long silver hair, blue eyes glowing like sapphires, golden armor wrapped around his body, and a silver sword he carried in his right hand. When that person moved closer to him, he saw a golden pattern on his blade.

His savior extended his hand towards that man. "What is your name?" that person asked with a smile on his face.

The wounded person grabbed his hand as he tried to stand; his balance was off, and that person gently grabbed his shoulder.

That person tightly hugged him and started crying. "My... my name is Reindur Kegter. Thank you, thank you so much, thank you," he started repeating things.

The man replied, "It's okay, you are safe now."

"Acroniya army, help the people, take them to safety, treat the injured," that person ordered.

He paused a brief moment and then added, "And the rest, clear the area." The hunt for the beasts started in that region; within a few hours, all the beasts that entered the Royal Capital were neutralized.

He helped Reindur Kegter walk towards the infirmary; after ensuring he was okay, he went out.

When Reindur was alone, he stared at his hand. Unable to control his emotions, he started to cry, "Finally, finally you are back. Finally, we are saved."
