Questa rapida carrellata mi ha permesso di mettere in evidenza un certo numero di problemi irrisolti legati soprattutto alla natura della vita, della coscienza e del libero arbitrio. Sono soggetti che la fisica teorica non ha ancora affrontato con il rigore logico-matematico che la distingue, perché sono sempre stati considerati problemi più filosofici che scientifici. Una tale trascuratezza ha portato alla convinzione che la visione materialista e informatica della realtà descriva tutta la realtà, mentre invece ne esclude gli aspetti più preziosi e sconosciuti. In particolare, nega o mette in dubbio l’esistenza del libero arbitrio e considera la coscienza come un mero epifenomeno. Ho anche evidenziato come l’avvento dell’IA metta in risalto ancora di più il pericolo di confondere la realtà con una teoria della realtà che elimina la coscienza, che è ciò che fa la differenza tra la realtà e l’imitazione della realtà. La seconda parte del libro affronta la visione materialista che giustifica l’egoismo, la competizione sfrenata e l’idea che l’universo sia privo di significato e scopo, e mostra che la fisica quantistica più avanzata non dà assolutamente supporto a questa visione distopica. Io penso che si può spiegare l’esistenza dell’interiorità senza invalidare l’evidenza sperimentale della fisica, visto che il materialismo è causato da un’interpretazione erronea della realtà basata sulla fisica classica, interpretazione che è già stata falsificata dalla fisica quantistica. La nuova interpretazione che presenterò spiega che la difficoltà di capire il messaggio della fisica quantistica è dovuta principalmente al fatto che essa descrive in gran parte le caratteristiche del mondo interiore anziché quelle del mondo esteriore.
